Mobile Ordering at WDW

Well, it’s been a hot second since I’ve written a blog post! It took me a while, but I did some thinking and some page overhaul, as I felt like I wasn’t writing enough about topics that interested me. But here we are, 8 months later, and I have now dedicated my blog to not only living an allergy friendly life, but also vacationing allergy friendly in Walt Disney World! I’m excited for this shift, and I think my posts will be more relevant to me and my experiences.

For my first official post, I wanted to give a #magictipmodenay about something that is often overlooked by WDW vacation goers: mobile ordering. Maybe it’s just human nature, but when people see a line, they either move past it or stand in it, especially when that line has to do with food. However, in recent years, WDW has come out with the My Disney Experience app, which has been a game changer when it comes to ordering food. Realistically, mobile ordering is not paired with every quick service (WDW speak for “fast food”) on the property, but it’s great for some of the more popular quick service options. (You can find all of the participating quick services restaurants in the My Disney Experience app.)

For the purpose of this post, I am going to go step-by-step for what it’s like to place  mobile order for Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom, which is what I did on my last trip. I’ve actually only used mobile ordering only a handful of times, as I usually forget about it, so I am trying to be better about using the neat tools that WDW has taken the time to put out there for their guests.

To begin mobile ordering, you would open the My Disney Experience app and click the “Order Food” button in the middle of the page.

Next, you would pick the quick service restaurant that you would like to order from. As I mentioned before, I clicked on Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom.

Once you have selected your restaurant, you will be brought to the main page for the restaurant to start the ordering process. I was brought to the main page for Casey’s Corner, where I clicked the button that said “Order Food” to order my meal. Also on this page, you can see whether or not the quick service location accepts the Disney Dining Plan. I was not on the Disney Dining Plan this trip, so I just clicked “Order Food.”

One the next page, you are presented with all of the food options. I was there specifically to try the plant-based loaded slaw dog, so I made sure to seek that out, but you can order any of the items offered on the menu in the restaurant, including limited time offerings.

Once you have selected what you would like to order, you will be directed to a page that will have a button that says “I’m Here, Prepare My Order.” I actually prepped my order while waiting in line to get a coffee at the in-park Starbucks, so I waited until I was out of line to have my ordered prepared and made my way over to Casey’s Corner once I got my coffee.

When I got to Casey’s Corner, I followed the signs to the Mobile Order Pick-Up and waited until my name was called. Ultimately, you still have to wait until your food is prepared, but I love how mobile ordering takes the stress out of having to wait in line to order and then wait for your food to be ready. I waited maybe 10 minutes for my food and then took it outside to eat and watch the stage show outside of Cinderella’s Castle. 10/10 would definitely recommend mobile ordering!

Check out my blog post tomorrow as I review the plant-based loaded slaw dog from Casey’s Corner! Here’s to living our best and most delicious lives. <3
