Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast Review

Welcome back to Tasty Tuesday! Today I am reviewing the allergy friendly breakfast at Trattoria al Forno! The Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno is a Tangled and Little Mermaid themed breakfast with fun music and a *tiny* bit of dancing (no, you don’t have to participate if you don’t want to!), and it is 1 dining credit on the Disney Dining Plan. Trattoria al Forno is on the boardwalk behind Epcot, and you can walk there from Disney’s Boardwalk and Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, as well as Uber/Lyft/Minnie Van to the boardwalk area. This is one of the most fun character meals I have been to at Walt Disney World, and the food was pretty great as well!

As you can see, there are several courses offered on the allergy friendly menu. To start, there are pastries provided from Erin McKenna’s allergy friendly bakery in Disney Springs. One of the mini muffins was chocolate and one was lemon poppyseed; both were super moist and delicious!

After the pastry option was a fruit option. I must have forgotten to take a picture of the fruit, but if I remember correctly, it was a standard small bowl of fruit. However, I can’t remember the specifics off of the top of my head. My guess would also be that the fruit varies by season and what’s fresh at that time.

For the main course, there are several options for those with allergies to choose from, which I appreciated. All of the egg options were out for me because of my egg sensitivity, so I could only choose from the pancake and waffle options. I choose the Mickey waffles, and, as always, they were a hit!

I also asked for a side of sausage and decided to forgo the side of fruit since I had already gotten fruit as my second course. The waffles were fluffy, delicious, and oh-so-adorable. Although I did not have a lot of options to choose from based on my own food sensitivities, I always appreciate that the allergy friendly Mickey waffles are an option for me no matter what table service breakfast option I choose in Walt Disney World (NOTE: Mickey waffles are not always offered at quick service options, but there is still an allergy friendly menu you can reference at any quick service dining location).

And now for the fun part… meeting the characters!!

Flynn Rider was hilarious and super friendly.

Rapunzel was quirky and silly making sure Flynn was behaving himself.

Ariel was nice, although a little low-energy.

And Prince Eric was quiet and so sweet.

My favorite part of the characters was watching them dance to some of the music from their movies, especially Rapnuzel and Flynn dancing to “I have a Dream.”

All in all, this breakfast is very much worth the cost. The food is awesome, the allergy friendly options are on point, and the characters are so entertaining. I would recommend this restaurant for a family with young children or for a girls’ weekend (like me and my friend Kaylin did in May 2018!).

Here’s to living our best and most delicious lives. <3
