Happy #tastytuesday friends! Today’s blog post is an allergy friendly review of the breakfast option at Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Topolino’s has two dining options: breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a character table service meal with flavors and theme inspired by the French Riviera. Breakfast is 1 table service credit on the Disney Dining plan.
Kyle and I arrived a few minutes late to our 9:50am reservation (WDW restaurants usually have a grace period of about 10 minutes). We made our way from the Disney Skyliner to the lobby of the Riviera, where we followed signs to an elevator that took us straight to Topolino’s. We checked in to our reservation at the podium right outside of the restaurant. We were seated about 10 minutes later.
I really liked the allergy friendly menu here because it had options that I have not been able to find at other table service breakfasts. The pastries here are not allergy friendly, and so the cast member offered to make me allergy friendly Mickey waffles instead. For my main course, I decided to try the Wild Mushroom Scramble with a side of regular sausage. After we ordered, our cast member brought us water and complimentary orange, guava, and pineapple juice.
The allergy friendly waffles were prepared about 10 minutes later and brought to the table with maple syrup and what tasted like Nutella. Nutella contains whey, and of course hazelnuts, and so I had a couple of bites with my waffles, but mostly used the maple syrup. The waffles themselves tasted a little different than what I am used to at other breakfast locations. The waffles were dough-y and dense, and not fluffy and crunchy. I didn’t mind them, but some may not like the difference in texture. Waffles aside, I loved the cute paint bowl they were served in! Tres chic.
About 15 minutes later, the main course was served. The one thing that surprised me off the bat was that I was served an omelette and not a scramble. It was still delicious, but not what I expected. I also was not expecting the potatoes on the plate. However, despite these small discrepancies, I really enjoyed my meal here. The omelette seemed to be a tofu-based and was delicious with mushrooms, spinach, and tomatoes. The potatoes were seasoned exceptionally well and the sausage was delicious. A+ meal in my book!
And, of course, you have the amazing character interactions…
….the sculptor, Donald Duck,….
…the dancer, Daisy Duck,….
…the poet, Minnie Mouse,…
…and the painter, Mickey Mouse!
Honestly, these were some of the best character interactions that Kyle and I have had at any character meal. They were constantly moving, not awkward, and so funny. At points, you would even see all 4 characters interacting together and with their handlers. Definitely an awesome bonus to this restaurant!
All in all, I would highly recommend Topolino’s Terrace for a great allergy friendly breakfast. The options are great, the atmosphere is fun, and you even get access to amazing views on the terrace outside of the restaurant! 10/10 recommend.
