Happy #tastytuesday friends! Today’s blog post is an updated allergy friendly review of the breakfast option at Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Topolino’s has two dining options: breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a character table service meal with flavors and theme inspired by the French Riviera, and my all-time FAVORITE character breakfast at Walt Disney World (WDW)!

I have now dined at Topolino’s Terrace for breakfast 3 times (once pre-covid and 2 times since the WDW parks reopening), and I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience each time. So much so, that I will be going back this month! Topolino’s is located on the very top floor of Disney’s Rivera Resort. As with all table service restaurants at WDW right now, we checked into our reservation via the mobile check in feature on the My Disney Experience app and our temperatures were taken before we were able to be seated. At this time, masks were required when walking around the restaurant, but could be taken off once you were seated. (WDW has since updated their mask policy for table service restaurants, which you can find here.)
You have the possibility of being seated in a table or booth at this restaurant. With social distancing measures in place, I prefer a booth here, as it will allow you to interact with the characters better since you’ll be facing them. We were seated in a booth this time around and given a QR code to scan for our menu. You can see the allergy friendly menu above that I screen shotted from the My Disney Experience app and instructions on how to find other allergy friendly menus here.

Included in your meal price are pastries, sunshine juice (which, if you’re a huge POG juice fan, you’ll love!), coffee, and water. The pastries here have varied over the times I have visited- sometimes the pastries are from Erin McKenna’s, sometimes I have to order waffles instead of pastries, and sometimes there are no pastries at all. Regardless, I enjoyed my cookies that were gluten, dairy, and egg friendly (which reminded me of Enjoy Life cookies- I’ll ask the next time!). 8/10 for me, just because they weren’t actual pastries, but the flavor was definitely there.
For my main course, I ordered the Wild Mushroom Scramble with a side of Mickey waffles. Clearly, it was not a scramble, more of an omelette, but boy was it delicious! I also asked for regular sausage instead of the plant-based sausage, which I love here because you can tell that it’s fresh and not your typical frozen breakfast sausage. The potatoes were also cooked with a pancetta, which was amazing! 10/10 for me for flavor and a beautiful presentation. Look how cute the Mickey ketchup looks!!

Now, let’s talk about this AMAZING Mickey waffle. I shared this story recently on my social media pages (Facebook and Instagram) if you’re interested in reading it, but I was completely surprised and happy to receive one large Mickey waffles instead of several small ones! This detail may seem small to some people, but I have never seen a large allergy friendly Mickey waffle, and I was so happy that I immediately started crying. I asked our cast member about it, and he said that this location has had large allergy friendly Mickey waffles since he can remember, plus it’s the only location one WDW property where you can order Minnie waffles, which are included if you order a kid’s waffles meal. 12/10 for me for taste, presentation, and just overall amazingness!
And now, for the characters! Minnie is a poet, Mickey is a painter, Donald is a sculptor, and Daisy is a dancer. Honestly, these were some of the best character interactions that I have had at any character meal, even with social distancing. They were constantly moving, not awkward, and so funny. At points, you would even see all 4 characters interacting together and with their handlers. Definitely an awesome bonus to this restaurant!

All in all, I would highly recommend Topolino’s Terrace for a great allergy friendly breakfast. Breakfast is $59.99 per adult and $35 per child, so it can be a little pricey, but I find this particular dining experience to be worth the cost. The options are great, the atmosphere is fun, and you even get access to amazing views on the terrace outside of the restaurant! 10/10 recommend.
Here’s to living our best and most delicious Disney lives! <3
