Hello and happy #tastytuesday friends! Today’s allergy friendly review is of the brand new quick service location in Epcot: Regal Eagle Smokehouse. Regal Eagle is located in the America pavilion in Epcot World Showcase, serving up barbecue with a nod to The Muppets.

I knew when I was at Walt Disney World for the Magical Vacation Planner conference in March that I wanted to try this new restaurant. I’d heard such great things from bloggers online, especially when it came to allergy friendly food. When I had a break in my schedule, Kyle and I decided to walk from the Yacht Club Resort over the the America pavilion for an early dinner and check it out.

The first thing I noticed about this quick service spot was the theming. I really liked the banners hanging from the ceiling and the feel of sitting outside, but you’re really sitting on benches inside and enjoying the air conditioning. I also liked that the “napkins” were paper towel rolls on each table, which gave the tables even more of a picnic feel.

Kyle and I headed to the back of the restaurant where we were able to ask for an allergy friendly menu. Once we ordered, we waited for our food at the window behind the cast member. As with most counter service restaurants, Kyle and I had to wait separately for our orders, as I ordered allergy friendly food and he ordered regular food.

The Regal Eagle allergy friendly menu actually had a decent amount of options in comparison to other quick service locations. I decided to go with the Memphis Dry-Rub Pork Ribs with French fries and a side of House-Made Pickles.

To start, I found the ribs to be good, but a little dry. The seasoning was nice. The fries were excellent! I was happy with the crispy-ness and seasoning on them as well. And the pickles were…interesting. I don’t think I disliked them, but I felt a little bit like I was eating a mustard seed. I think I would need to have a craving for these pickles if I were to order them again.

Something that I really enjoyed about this restaurant was the array of barbecue sauces that you could choose from. I took the liberty of trying all 4, and my favorite was the sweet mustard sauce. All of them were great and would appeal to different areas of the US where barbecue is popular.
Lastly, there was an outdoor bar area that we did not have time to try out, but that looked really cool! Definitely something I’d like to try when Walt Disney World is open again.
All in all, Regal Eagle is a great quick service location, both for food and food allergies. Although it’s not my favorite, it’s a solid choice in a park where sometimes it can be harder to find tasty allergy friendly options. It’s definitely a restaurant to try out if you can make the time!
Here’s to living our best and most delicious Disney lives! <3
