Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza Restaurant Review

Happy #tastytuesday friends! I know I am pretty late to the party on this one, but I was FINALLY able to try Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza in Disney Springs. Blaze is a pizza chain that is found elsewhere, but I had not be able to experience it until about 3 weeks ago. And let me tell you- I am hooked! You can find Blaze Pizza in the Town Centre area of Disney Springs, and it is considered 1 Quick Service credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

Just at first glance, I was very excited to eat here. Blaze has a beautiful view of the river that flows through Disney Springs, and the orange color pops against the bright blue of the water. I also loved that you could see there was plenty of outdoor seating that was also covered.

When we arrived to order our food, we were directed to a socially distanced line (to the left of the picture under the umbrellas). I liked that there were umbrellas set up here as well to protect guests from the sun, rain, or sometimes both! We joined the line queue and were directed to wait outside of the restaurant by one of the employees until the party in front of us had ordered their food. We were then directed to stand on a social distancing marker right before we got to the counter, where an employee called us over to order our food. Kyle and I were wearing our masks (as required by Disney Springs), and we were pleased to see all of the employees in masks, and gloves, as well.

I had heard that Blaze was like a Chipotle for pizza, but I didn’t realize how much so until I saw all of the toppings in front of me! I was amazed by the amount of options. Dough alone has 5 options:

  • Classic Dough (Vegan)
  • Gluten Free Dough (Vegan)
  • Cauliflower (GF, contains dairy & eggs)
  • High-Rise Dough (Vegan)
  • Keto Crust (GF, contains dairy & eggs)

The first pizza I ordered was on the classic dough. I did not realize at the time that the gluten-free crust option was also vegan, which is the option I have ordered ever since. I was deeply impressed by the ability to create made-to-order pizzas for most food allergies and dietary restrictions, which is not something I have experienced at other pizza eateries.

I opted to order the Hot Link pizza (Italian sausage, banana peppers, jalapeños, black olives, red onions, mozzarella, and spicy red sauce). and I subbed the mozzarella with vegan cheese, while Kyle option for a regular BBQ CHKN pizza (grilled onion, mozzarella, red onion, banana peppers, gorgonzola, bbq sauce drizzle). Side note- I also tried an allergy friendly option of the BBQ CHKN pizza by subbing the cheese with vegan cheese, and it was delicious!

Anyway, once we had ordered our pizzas, we were directed to the end of the counter to wait for our pizza to cook. I didn’t take a picture of it (although in retrospect, I probably should have), but we were standing on a social distance marker on the floor while we waited by the counter. The area in front of the counter was blocked off so people knew not to stand close. My one annoyance with this is that some people ignored the tape/markers and took off their masks when they entered the area around the counter to talk to the person who was calling out the orders. Kyle and I chose not to eat our pizza there and opted to take ours home once our orders were ready.

When I finally got to try my pizza, I was absolutely THRILLED with how it turned out. When I am trying to balance egg, dairy, and sometimes gluten/wheat allergies, finding something tasty, like pizza, can be extremely difficult. Sometimes I might opt to eat it knowing how my body will react, but I don’t want to feel bloated, moody, and generally miserable if I do eat my food allergies. I was very pleased that I was able to enjoy a pizza, one that I made to my specifications, and that it was both delicious and allergy friendly. I love spicy food, so the spicy sauce mixed with the jalapeños and banana peppers was great. The vegan cheese melted perfectly, which is sometimes hard to achieve. I also did not mind the regular crust, but I much prefer the gluten free crust.

All in all, our experience here has been a 10/10 every single time, which is rare when you are looking for allergy friendly options. Since our first experience, we have also taken advantage of mobile order online on the Blaze website, which allows us to order in advance and pick it up so we are not spending too much time inside. The website is very easy to use and lays out all of the allergy friendly options, as well as allows you to make modifications as needed.

Here’s to living our best and most delicious Disney lives! <3
