Happy #tastytuesday friends! Today’s blog post brings us to Muppet Courtyard to a new favorite quick service spot: PizzeRizzo. Since I’ve been coming to Walt Disney World as an adult, PizzeRizzo hasn’t been open very often. However, since the parks have reopened, PizzeRizzo has been open during normal park operating hours as a quick service dining option.

You can find PizzeRizzo to the back, left-hand side of Muppet Courtyard, and you will pass the restaurant if you are making your way over to Mama Melrose Ristorante, also located in Muppet Courtyard. I love that the theming of this restaurant is an Italian pizzeria with with a Muppet twist, as it is named after the Muppet character Rizzo. If you don’t know who Rizzo is, check out Muppet Vision 3D next door to get a short introduction to his character.

As with the other quick service locations around Walt Disney World, I was directed to place a mobile order first through the My Disney Experience app before entering the restaurant. I was specifically here to check out the plant based Spicy Italian “Sausage” Sub, which I had heard great things about. I also ordered my sub with a side salad and a Dasani water. If you are unfamiliar with Mobile Ordering at Walt Disney World, check out my step-by-step guide on how to do so here.

Once my order was ready, I showed my order confirmation to the cast member by the entrance of the restaurant and was directed to pick up my food at register 5. As there was someone ahead of my, I waited on my designated marker until it was my turn to pick up my food. As I picked up my food, I was informed by the cast member helping me that my salad dressing was a plant based ranch dressing, which made me SO EXCITED! This is only the second place I have been able to get a plant based ranch dressing, the first being The Plaza Restaurant.

I decided to take my food upstairs on the second floor of the restaurant to eat. I really love how spacious this restaurant is. As you can see, I did not have many people seated around me. Additionally, some tables were closed off for social distancing.

Now, onto the food. I was honestly surprised by how much food I got with my order. The sausage was a decent size with a lot of veggies and sauce on top, and the roll was awesome (dairy/egg free)! The cup of salad had more lettuce than it initially looked like it had. I ended up dumping the salad and the dressing into the sub container to make it easier to eat, and the salad filled up most of the container. Overall, the sub was hearty and tasted just like a regular sausage. The sauce was a great balance of sweet and savory, and the vegetables added a nice component to the dish as well. I was also super please with the salad! 10/10 would recommend this dish for dairy/egg food allergies.

On another note, PizzeRizzo is also home to a unique dining room that is designed after a 90s wedding theme. If you happen to be on the second floor and want to check out this room, I highly recommend it for a fun atmosphere and 90s tunes while you eat!
Overall, I really enjoyed my experience eating at PizzeRizzo. Hollywood Studios has always been a hard park for me because there were not many quick service allergy friendly options. However, times are changing, and I am happy that there are several locations offering more quick service options to people with food allergies and sensitivities!
Here’s to living our best and most delicious Disney lives! <3
