Chef Mickey’s Breakfast Review

Happy #tastytuesday friends! I recently was able to try Chef Mickey’s located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort for the first time since I was a little kiddo. I really enjoyed my experience there and wanted to share it with you on today’s blog post!

Normally a character dining and buffet experience where you can meet the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto), Chef Mickey’s has undergone some small changes with its reopening post-Covid. At the time I dined here, characters had not yet returned, although they will return with socially distanced interactions starting on 12/16/20.

The other change is that this breakfast has become an all-you-can-eat family style meal, similar to Garden Grill, instead of a buffet. You can still see the food being prepared at the buffet stations, but now the cast members will bring the food right to your table.

I was given both the regular menu and the allergy menu when I sat down, as the cast member wanted to make sure I knew what all of my dining options were. As I had already noted my allergies in the My Disney Experience app, my server was fully aware of my dairy, egg, and gluten allergies.

I decided to start with my WDW breakfast beverage of choice, which is a coffee with vanilla Soy milk. I have not had an issue asking for soy milk instead of creamer at any of the breakfasts I have gone to, and it’s my favorite way to start my Disney breakfasts. 10/10 for allergy friendly consistency!

After a few sips of coffee, my server brought me some fresh fruit to start. I love me some fresh fruit, but did not enjoy the basil on top. 8/10 solely because of the basil. Next time I’ll have to remember to ask for my fruit without it.

Next, I was served a variety of meats and some tater tots! My server brought me sausages, bacon, ham, and kielbasa that all suited my allergies. I’m big into breakfast meats and tater tots, so these options were all amazing to me, especially the kielbasa and tater tots. 10/10 all around!

So if you have been reading my posts or following my social media, you’ll know I LOVE a good allergy friendly Mickey waffle. Well, my next course did not disappoint! The allergy friendly waffles were as fluffy and delicious as always, plus I loved the added bonus of being able to get some allergy friendly donuts as a part of my meal as well. The donuts themselves were super sweet, which was a little too much for me, but delicious regardless. 10/10 for the waffles and 9/10 for the donuts!

And last, but certainly not least, I was able to try the plant based tofu scramble. If you’ve read my Topolino’s Terrace breakfast review, you may know already that I love the plant based scramble there already. However, I think Chef Mickey’s may have surpassed Topolino’s for my favorite tofu scramble on property. First, it was actually a scramble and not served in an omelette form. Second, the flavors were amazing. You can taste the fresh veggies, and I felt just like I was eating real eggs. 10/10 for me!

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Chef Mickey’s. The food was amazing, and for $25 per adult and $14 per child, you definitely get your money’s worth. Although I missed the characters, I look forward to returning to eat here in the future to check out the socially distanced character interactions!

Here’s to living our best and most delicious Disney lives! <3
