Primo Piatto Lunch Review

Happy #tastytuesday friends!! Today I’m really excited to review a delicious lunch I had recently at Primo Piatto. This hidden gem is the quick service location at Disney’s Rivera Resort and has quickly become one of my favorite quick service options for food allergies on Walt Disney World property.

If you didn’t know already, Disney’s Riviera Resort reflects aspects of The Rivera with French and Italian influences. The food is no exception! You can find Primo Piatto on the first floor of the Riviera Resort near both of the main pools.

I had checked out the menu on the My Disney Experience app before heading over and didn’t see any options that suited all of my dairy, gluten, and egg allergies, so I headed inside to order directly with a cast member. I always recommend talking directly to cast members when you have multiple food allergies.

I was given a paper menu with all of the options for lunch and was told by the cast member to pick what I wanted and that the chef would make it work for me. I decided to try the grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad. Once I paid, I was given a receipt and a physical buzzer to wait for my food.

The first thing I have to say about this meal: it was SO GORGEOUS for an allergy friendly quick service meal. The presentation was so nice that I didn’t even want to bite into the sandwich because it looked so pretty.

The chef did have to make some small modifications to the sandwich to make it suitable for my allergies. The spinach and artichoke spread was removed, and I was able to get a Dijon mustard to put on the sandwich instead. Something that I thought was really cool is that the cast member let me know that the restaurant actually makes its own allergy friendly bread, which suited all of my allergies! That combined with the tender chicken, the fresh vegetables, and the presentation made this sandwich a 10/10 for me. I even went back this last week to reorder it because it was so good!

The side salad was also very good, although nothing out of the ordinary. I got a red wine vinaigrette to put on top that was really yummy. 8/10 for me!

Like I’ve already mentioned, I liked my experience so much here that I made it a point to come back within 2 weeks of my last visit to get the same chicken sandwich. I also got a peak at the breakfast menu, and I really want to try some of the allergy friendly offerings that are available here for breakfast. I hope you enjoyed this quick review and found it helpful!
